Luxor Tour from Hurghada: Day Trip

This trip starts early in the morning, when your tour guide will pick you up at 4:30. Jump into an airconditioned van and drive from your hotel in Hurghada to Luxor. Start out by exploring the East Bank of Luxor. See the famous Temples of Karnak, the largest place of worship that was ever built. Its ancient name (Ipet-isut) means 'the most sacred of places.' The temple, or, more correctly, the complex of temples, was built more than two thousand years ago by generation after generation of pharaohs. Within the complex is the massive Hypostyle Hall, an incredible forest of giant pillars.

After a fantastic morning exploring some of Luxor's impressive temples, we'll relax along the Nile at a local restaurant for a delicious lunch with a wonderful Nile view. After lunch, you will take an afternoon trip to the Valley of the Kings, home to magnificent, richly decorated tombs filled with treasures. One of the most remarkable archaeological destinations in the world, the valley is known to contain 63 tombs and chambers ranging in size from a simple pit to a complex tomb with over 120 chambers. See what remains of the tombs of King Tutankhamun and the sons of Ramesses II.

Up next on the itinerary is the Hatshepsut Temple, the funeral temple of the only female pharaoh with its lengthy terraces split in three levels. Then learn more about the Colossi of Memnon. There is an optional visit to Banana Island by boat for those who are interested.

At the end of this tour, you have one hour to explore the markets and souks of Luxor for some shopping before heading back to your hotel in Hurghada in an air-conditioned coach, reaching there at around 8.00 pm.
