“First solo trip for me, but the tour group staff (and guests for that matter) were excellent - the travelling times whilst long, were well worth it - our Intrepid guide Tshepo and driver Cosmas made the trip effortless with good organisation, clear communication and always timely starts/finishes - the information provided at each location, picture opportunities given, fun activities, good food and basically everything else, made this my favourite trip to date - will defo be doing another Africa tour with Intrepid.”

RALPH's review for another Intrepid Travel tour
“I wasn't forewarned about the difficulty of obtaining a Russian VISA in a short timeframe. Obtaining one in a short period of time cost over $1,000.
Additionally, I suggest booking directly with the tour company as communication was not passed from agent company, to tour company, to me the traveler that extra hotel fees were required as the hotel had sold out of single rooms.”

Is this trip right for you:
  • This is Vietnam, so days are hot and sticky, and nights can get quite cool! Be sure to wear layers, use adequate sun protection and drink plenty of water.
  • You will visit a number of temples on this trip, and it's important to respect the local custom. Arms and knees should be covered. A light scarf is a good idea for covering shoulders and arms when it’s hot.
  • Be prepared for basic shared facilities at your Mekong Delta homestay (Day 11). The lack of creature comforts is, of course, a small price to pay for such an authentic local experience.
  • Your overnight train journey from Hanoi to Hue (Day 4) is quite long. The upside is, you'll wake up in a thrilling new destination and experience travelling like a local. While bedding is supplied some families opt to bring their own sleep sheets.
