- Borrow some Vietnamese history at the Temple of Literature
- Remember the fallen at Hoa Lo Prison museum
- Feel the serenity of Saint Joseph’s Cathedral and Hoan Kiem Lake
After taking on some tea and delicious traditional snacks, this Hanoi tour moves on to the renowned Hoa Lo Prison museum, or the ‘Hanoi Hilton’ as nicknamed by American pilots during the Vietnam War. Originally used by the French Colonists to house political prisoners, it became a camp for housing American POWs during the 20 year fighting.
From here it is time to learn the history of religion and spirit in Hanoi, with our first stop at Saint Joseph’s Cathedral. Get a photo in front of the stunning building itself, before we head to Hoan Kiem Lake in the heart of the city. The experience of this spiritual place, with the impressive The Huc Bridge and Ngoc Son Temple, is a perfect way to finish off this wonderful historic tour of the magnificent Hanoi city.
