Travel Tips
- It is now possible to fly to Liberia, Guanacaste’s capital, direct from many major US airports.
- High season is from mid-December to April. Temperatures are high but rainfall is at its lowest. During the wet season, May to October, rainfall is likely to compromise your plans.
- The best time to visit is probably November to mid-December when the weather is not too wet but the peak season crowds have still not arrived.
- The local currency is the Costa Rican Colon but US dollars are widely accepted, and ATMs are easy to find in most towns.
