A smorgasbord of Scotland's most outstanding characteristics. Learn about the bloody history of Stirling Castle, gaze at the wondrous Glencoe and peer up at Scotland's highest peak. Amidst the cultural and scenic delights, we indulge in an Afternoon Tea made with delicious local ingredients such as Highland Gouda cheese, local roast ham, fine Scottish smoked salmon and homemade scones. The world-famous Loch Ness itself is then just the cherry on top.
Heading north we pass the imposing ramparts of Stirling Castle and drive through the Trossachs National Park, Rob Roy country. We cross the wilds of Rannoch Moor before stopping at dramatic Glencoe. We journey through Fort William and majestic Ben Nevis, before arriving at Fort Augustus on the banks of Loch Ness.
At the award-winning Lovat Hotel, you’ll be treated to a delicious ‘Taste of Scotland’ Afternoon Tea; a menu designed around some of the local produce. After lunch you can go ‘Nessie hunting’ on a short walk to the shoreline or just relax by the Caledonian Canal.
We journey back along the banks of shimmering Loch Laggan and travel over the Drumochter Pass through the Cairngorms National Park and onto Perthshire, a land of forests, rivers and mountains. We view the spectacular Forth Bridges before arriving back in Edinburgh around 8.00pm.
