Visit and learn about the Mt. Fuji Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine from an expert guide. This shrine has over 2000 years of history and is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore Wakutamaike Pond, which is located on the shrine grounds, and contains spring water from Mt. Fuji. Wakutamaike Pond and its water are designated as a Special Natural Monument because it contains water that has seeped through the countless layers of volcanic rock on Mt. Fuji.

After the shrine tour, it's time to get ready for the hike. This easy hike will take you along the Fujinomiya Trail to explore the Hoei crater, the largest crater on Mt. Fuji, formed over 300 years ago. The elevation increases from 2400 meters to 2600 meters (7870 feet to 8530 feet) above sea level. If the weather is good, lunch will be served near the crater.

The tour ends with a visit to a traditional ryokan (Japanese inn) to try some special artisanal desserts. Prepared by an expert chef of Japanese cuisine, the desserts are original creations and a blend of Japanese and Western styles. The chef makes it a point to use only the best fresh and seasonal vegetables and fruits. As you enjoy the desserts, you also get the chance to chat with the ryokan’s host, who will share interesting bits about Fujinomiya culture and customs.
