The most inflexible and umaccommodating tour company I’ve used
Tuesday night, accident happened. Complete extensive tear of meniscus that will require surgery. Emailed Grand American Adventures to ask for a transfer of my spot on the Grand Canyon and Zion walking trip in November 2017 to April 2018. All I got was “100% no refund. Hope you get a speedy recovery” in every email response I got. I wasn’t even asking for a refund, just company credit for a later trip.
I chose to pay $2,700 for an 11 day walking tour with them because they are a British company and I had faith in the way the Brits run things, being an honorary Brit myself full of camaraderie. Turned out the “cannot cannot” attitude and lack of flexibility the way things are done is rampant in Blighty. I would never recommend this company to anyone no matter how amazing their trips might sound. There are hundreds other American companies that cost much less and are willing to transfer clients’ spots for medical reasons on credit. #donotjoin #grandamericanadventures
