Florence Tours and Trips 2024/2025

While it is widely known as the birthplace of renaissance art, Florence was also incredibly important for European politics and economy during the same period. Moreover, the development of Florentine renaissance and neoclassical architecture changed the faces of all major European cities. Florence isn’t just the birthplace of renaissance art. It is in fact the birthplace of modern European culture.

Cycle Tuscany and Chianti
5 - Excellent
  • Anonymous
“A spectacular cycling trip with a 'wow' at every turn and summit. It blends fantastic scenery with exactly the right amount of culture which a cycling holiday in this region rightly deserves. The food and wine are likewise to the exquisite standard you would expect;so don't go in the hope of loosing weight.”
Small group

“This was a great tour. Rome was a small group. Mohammed was very personable and informative. Tuscany was 75 people. However, the guide for Tuscany spoke 3 or 4 languages and managed amazingly well to keep everyone informed. In Sienna, we split into smaller groups. One drawback of this tour was there was little time to actually see Florence. I would recommend adding several days on the backend. This tour was not what we had expected, but it worked for us. Driver picks you up for the tour but then we had to find our own way back to the motel once tours were completed. You aren't actually with the same group from tour to tour. Plus no meals are provided except for breakfast at the hotel. For those that like some freedom, this is a great tour but if you want structure and to stay with the same group, this is not for you.”
Gems of Rome and Florence
5 - Excellent

“The tours were set up with the perfect mix of tour/personal time. Stefan, Claudia and our bus driver were top notch navigating us through the narrow streets to make sure we saw all of the local highlights! Recommend to everyone.”

Florence - Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

Florence Tour Highlights

  • The Galleria degli Uffizi is the largest collection of renaissance art you’ll find, and was gifted to Florence by none other than Anna Maria Luisa Medici.
  • Watch the sunset from the Piazzale Michelangelo where the city unfolds beneath you under the warm glow of the Tuscan sun.
  • Get your fill of local dishes at a Florentine trattoria.
  • The Duomo is an iconic piece of the Florentine skyline and the graceful dome of Bruneschelli is an architectural masterpiece.
  • Galleria dell'Accademia is a must, if only to see Michelangelo's David.
  • Piazza della Signoria is the city’s central square and is where the original David sat for centuries.
  • The Mercato Centrale is a great pitstop for foodies.
  • If you want some Italian style shopping head to Via Tornabuoni.

Florence Travel Tips

  • Firenze Card is your best bet when your on a vacation in Italy as it saves time and money on local attractions and transport.
  • Florence is a small city and easy to walk around, you won’t find much need for public transport. The historical center is closed to vehicles.
  • Don’t try and see every piece of art Florence has to offer. Even die-hard art lovers will find it overwhelming.
  • Before heading to an attraction, make sure you double-check opening hours. Florentines are known for keeping unusual hours.
  • All state museums are free on the first Sunday of every month. This might save money but they are especially overcrowded on this day.
