Summer in Egypt officially runs from June to August, though most of May and September see scorching days across the country. Average temperatures of 40°C (104°F) keep most foreign holiday makers at bay; some days even hit 50°C (122°F). Domestic tourists flock to the coast to cool off at the beach.

In Egypt, autumn runs from September to November. However, most of the country remains sweltering hot during September, making it a great month to snorkel or scuba dive in the Red Sea, but not much else. By October, the country cools down enough for the season’s first tourists to arrive. Things don’t start to get busy until November.

Winter in Egypt – December to February
