“Exceptionally well organized with the owner a fair and reasonable individual. Also, as soon as I booked he set about organizing the trek immediately over WhatsApp, even though he was a very busy man (I assume because of the other good treks he runs.) Just make sure you have a good insurance company. Apparently with trekking companies it is common to include a hard to find clause stating you will fully indemnify the company if your insurance refuses to pay.”

“Growing up in the USA, we were always told scary stories about the USSR. While in the military, we prepared for battle against the powerful USSR. So admittedly, these thoughts possibly re-entered my mind prior to my arrival to Moscow. Guess what? It was a great trip! The people were friendly and nice to me. Just as I would be to them in the USA. A major surprise was that I experienced 8 degrees Celsius in August. We were informed that temperature is not normal for August.”

“We took the second ever Russian River Cruise trip in September 2019. It was an amazing experience and worth every penny. The time in both Moscow and St. Petersburg were well organized and included a good amount of free time. The additional stops during the cruise were each unique and offered a taste of the "real" Russia -- small villages, ancient cathedrals, ruins, and more. The cruise itself was a nice addition. The cabin was small and spartan, but the boat itself was not large so we had no complaints about the cabin. The food served was delicious and authentic. We were quite pleasantly surprised at the quality, quantity, and presentation. Growing up in the US during the Cold War, all we learned about Russia was from propaganda. It was wonderful to finally see it for ourselves. We loved every minute of it. I am deeply disappointed to see that the tour operator has already cancelled this itinerary. I've had so many people express excitement from our photos and reports and saying they can't wait to take the same trip. What a shame they won't now have that opportunity.”
