A Team That Goes Above and Beyond!
5 - Excellent
  • Eric
“This tour provider hits it out of the park on the big wins: safety, logistics, and expertise. Their guides conducted twice daily health checks, measuring blood oxygen to ensure we were acclimating appropriately and they had medication ready to cover any malady. On summit day they carried oxygen as a safety measure that I found necessary after experiencing altitude sickness and the team even provided it to another suffering climber whose guides were not carrying oxygen. Not all guide services have these safety measures! The logistics flow was impressive from the get-go with airport and hotel shuttles. The camp logistics on-mountain was even more so. We’d depart camp after breakfast, they’d have tea and snacks set up along the trail, and we’d arrive at lunch to find the mess tent already set up with lunch ready, just to find it and our sleeping tents set up again at the end of the hike with tea and popcorn waiting and dinner shortly to follow. The consideration that the Porter team put into our comfort was overwhelming. The expertise of the team was unquestionable. The company clearly takes hiring very seriously and recruits knowledgeable guides. Professionals across the board whom we greatly trusted. With the big wins checked off in style, the company goes above and beyond with personal touches that make the trip truly memorable. I think the most memorable for us was the tradition and ceremony that the team brought to the experience - celebratory group singing and dancing especially, even cakes and champagne! Then small things like hot water bottles to keep sleeping bags warm really made us feel well cared for.”
Absolutely perfect Safari Agency!

“Our trip to Tanzania was well curated by this company. From our first chats with Joan, we felt comfortable to proceed with booking with this company. Booking with local company makes us feel the great contribution to the local economy. Our guide was very helpful and informative, he did everything he could to make us comfortable and informed. The safari camp, Suenos was best and in the center of wilderness, with greater views of wildlife. It was amazing to here the sound of animals at mid-night and we will never forget this experience. One thing of note is flexibility the company have on planing of our trip. We will get back to this company again and again when we travel to Tanzania again. Thanks to Brian, Judith and our travel planner Joan, we enjoyed every moment with you guys in Tanzania.”

“"We thank Joan for planning our Safari and beach holiday to Tanzania. Throughout our journey, this tour company ensured our safety and comfort. Their attention to detail was remarkable, as they took care of all the logistics, including transfers, accommodations, and even dietary preferences. They were always available to answer our questions and provide assistance, making us feel well taken care of. We cannot thank them enough for orchestrating such an amazing trip. Their passion for delivering exceptional experiences shines through in everything they do. We highly recommend them to anyone seeking a seamlessly organized Tanzania safari and beach holiday. They truly go above and beyond to make dreams holiday come true. Once again, a heartfelt thank you to the entire team for creating memories that will last a lifetime!"”

East Africa — Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

Think of safari, and it’s East Africa’s landscapes that come to mind — one of the last places to catch the Big Five. Look beyond the plains in a trip to East Africa and you’ll also discover the Great Rift Valley’s many other wonders such as Lake Victoria, Kenya’s pristine beaches, and the Zanzibar islands among them.

Tour Highlights

  • Jump into a 4x4 for that timeless safari experience in Tsavo East, Amboseli, or Ngorongoro - just three of a whole host of protected spaces from which to take home unforgettable memories of elephants, rhinos, and lions in their natural environment
  • Pull on your hiking boots and scale the heady heights of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest mountain at 5,895 meters.
  • Experience the grandeur of Victoria Falls – ‘the Smoke that Thunders’ – up close, from the comfort of a viewing platform, or by rafting the bubbling white water of Zambezi Gorge
  • Hit the idyllic beaches of Kenya or Zanzibar and soak up the rays on pristine sands, splash about in the warm shallows, or delve beneath the waves for a spot of world-class scuba diving
  • Delve into the forests of Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda for that once in a lifetime encounter with gorillas in the mist, coming eye to eye with our closest living relatives as their family groups relax in the shade of the lush vegetation
  • Witness one of the world’s largest animal migrations, as more than two million wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle cross the plains of the Masai Mara and Serengeti in search of fresh grass.

Travel Tips

  • The best time to visit East Africa is generally considered to be from July to November, during the region’s long dry season. Temperatures are mild, and July sees the start of the wildebeest migration, although this time is also peak period, with accommodation booking up quickly.
  • East Africa is incredibly safe as a destination, with tour companies and locals alike going out of their way to make visitors feel welcome. Follow standard practices, such as not leaving valuables unattended, and you won’t have any problems.
  • Do like the locals, and wear light weave and light color natural fabrics such as cotton, rather than tight-fitting man-made materials, to stay cool in the sun. Make sure you’ve also packed a sun hat.
  • Don’t worry if you don’t run to schedule. Time is a little more fluid in East Africa than in the west, however, this doesn’t mean you’ll have to miss out on any activities or experiences, with additional time built in for just this eventuality!
