“Overall we were extremely happy with our bike and barge experience. The guides were exceptional. The emphasis was on safety and enjoyment. The camaraderie between the riders, staff and guides was terrific. We felt it was an amazing way to see the country. Food on board was top notch and plentiful. Although we could purchase our own espresso as the morning coffee provided was not great (overall, a small issue).”

“We traveled on the "Kapetan Jure" on our Croatian island bike and sail trip and the guides and crew on the trip were excellent, especially the lead guide Ana Pucic who was absolutely fabulous and made our fantastic experience even more fantastic, she was such a delight and always had a big smile on her face. Ana was so helpful with those who were a little less sure of themselves on the bike. I'm sure that anyone who is fortunate enough to have Ana as a guide would be singing her talents as a wonderful guide and leader.”

“What surprised us most about our first trip to Croatia wasnt the spectacular scenery, nor the crystal-clear sea, nor the well-preserved historical buildings but the friendliness of the people. During our 10-day stay, everyone we dealt with was kind and helpful. It is so refreshing to visit a country that is not fed up with its tourists (yet). The bikes were of good quality and generally well-maintained. It was very thoughtful of the captain to turn the ship around each day so that all of the cabins got an equal share of sun. Our cruise was perfect, in large part thanks to our guides.”

Croatia Cruise Travel Tips
Don’t rule out a Croatia cruise tour if you’re on a tight budget. While a cruise on a state-of-the-art modern cruise ship sounds inviting, there’s always the option to hunker down on a traditional wooden-hulled boat with bunk beds and save money!
There are Croatia cruise packages to suit every traveler type including explorers, foodies, party animals, nature enthusiasts, and those seeking pure rest and relaxation so pick a cruise that suits your needs and you’ll be traveling with like-minded people.
If you only have the time and budget for a 7-day cruise, opt to travel from Dubrovnik to Split (or vice versa) as this route takes in the country's highlights and best islands. The time spent sailing is relatively short too leaving you with plenty of time to enjoy land excursions.
The cruising season in Croatia reaches peak capacity in the summer months of June, July, and August, but cruises run from May to October. You’ll probably find cheaper prices if you opt for the shoulder months and it should still be fairly warm.
