At Urban Adventures, we firmly believe local travel is one of the best ways we can support responsible tourism. In fact, we believe it so strongly that we’ve made it our entire business! All our tours are run by local experts, not some faceless corporate team located halfway around the world with no sense of the local vibe.
We craft our tours to ensure every traveller has authentic interactions with local people, businesses, transportation, and food and drink. Local travel gives you the opportunity to experience a destination as locals do, and has the potential to impact you in ways you never imagined. In short: local is awesome.

Pete was an excellent guide on the Prague Beer and Tapas tour. I enjoyed the evening tremendously and it gave me insight into the beer and food culture of Prague. We went to historical places and tried local brews as well as the food that goes with it - ending off with the famous Pilsner Urquell and pancakes for dessert!
Adele was incredibly knowledgeable and kind. I thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour. I also booked it the night before so I was super thankful that it was easy and available for me at the last minute.
Gabi and Carlson were enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Both also seemed very enthused to be there, which surprised me as I assumed taking the same tour daily might be dull after a while. By far, it was the most fun day I'd had in KL since I moved here 6 months ago!
This was the perfect way to explore life as a local Venetian. The subtle insights into the day to day life combined with the quality of the food and wine was exceptional. The tour is the perfect amount of time and a very reasonable price considering the amount of food, wine and labor provided by the guide. Will recommend to anyone I know visiting Venice and will look to explore other Urban Adventure tours in the future!
I was extremely fortunate to have a fabulous guide, Wawa, and also to be the only person on the tour that day. As a result, I had a one-to-one experience, and I was able to ask many questions and learn a great deal from her, especially about Buddhism, which proved very helpful when I visited temples on the rest of my trip in Thailand.
The Best Tour of Florence! our guide Marco was a local and gave us an insight to the best of Florence it made our stay in the city sensational. We had a chance to taste and learn about locations that only locals frequent! The tastings were amazing loved the farm to table store of local salumi and cheese, the truffles & Prosecco and the best gelato in town!
Can highly recommend the tour. Had a fantastic time exploring the city. It was quite a personal experience as I was the only one on the tour. One comment would be that I had trouble recognizing the tour guide at the train station, particularly as he was also late and wearing plain clothes blending in to the general traveler population, and I was not sure I was in the right location. I have been on other Urban Adventures tours and the guides were wearing red t-shirts stating they were from Urban.
Danny was a fantastic guide - lots of great information about Hong Kong as well as the great food.
Our guide Nikki was extremely nice, thoughtful, enthusiastic and knowledgable, had a really fun few hours.
We loved our tour with Vanessa. Her enthusiasm and knowledge made the tour that much more enjoyable. It was nice to get away from the crowds and wander through the beautiful streets of Trastevere. A "must do" for anyone wanting to get a feel for the local flavor of Rome!
Giovanne was/is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide who made the tour so enjoyable. Not only that, but it is great fun mixing with other tourists with a similar passion for food and wine. Salut to the team. An UA tour will now be on a list of 'to do's' on each city trip.
This tour (8th May 2016) was excellent in every respect. Our guide (Cücü) was friendly, relaxed and welcoming. We experienced a tremendous variety of food and drink, all in an area of Istanbul we were not familiar with, and all the while learning about that area, the people who live there, the types of shops and food places, the buildings, the history and so on. A truly enjoyable and fascinating tour - and we couldn't eat any more by the end of the evening! We have already recommended this tour to others.
I had a great time and had never treated street art with that much attention before but I will give it more than a glance in the future. A chance to taste more of the beers at the craft brewery would be good, smaller tasting glasses before time to enjoy a pint or a few halves.
Arthur was a great guide who provided us with a good insight into the Latin quarter. He was a lovely guy with a good sense of humour which made the tour really fun and we particularly enjoyed our stop for wine and charcuterie followed by a game of pétanque. Merci Arthur!
Nhi was awesome, and we also had the assistance of Vin on the tour whom was absolutely lovely. The tour itself showed us how the locals live and the different industries. Nhi also looked after all tipping for us, we just has to give her 20,000 at the start. This saved us having to worry about it and ensured everyone was tipped, and what was fair for them. Such a lovely day and enjoyed myself so much. Thanks again.
Our guide Teresa was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and considerate. She made the experience interesting and fun.
COULDN"T HAVE BEEN ANY BETTER!!!!!! THANKS SO MUCH- PARENTS OF USA WOMEN'S WATER POLO
The tour was fun and informative and our guide was very knowledgable. Our only suggestion is that there be more opportunities to stop and take pictures as we spent a majority of the time sitting inside the car (probably because it was cold outside).
Tomasz is an excellent guide and made the hike an experience to remember. I would highly recommend this to anyone that will be visiting San Sebastian
We were the only ones on the tour which made it very intimate, during the tour we were shown a number of Pintxos we never tasted before. It was excellent to have a local perspective of where to go and what to try. Definitely hit up this tour, if you are limited by time as they bring you to the best places to try out local eats.
A really good introduction to Rio, travelling with a local guide on foot and on public transport - quite a long day but full of interest. Excellent guide.
Danny was very nice and knowledgeable. I expected we would stop somewhere for a bite sooner than we actually did. So I was quite starving by the time we arrived at the first place where we could eat. But overall a nice and enjoyable experience.
Only two of us on our tour so we got Travis's undivided attention and were able to have all our questions considered in full. Whilst we really enjoyed our time and learnt heaps, and went to areas many travellers might not go, there could have been a greater focus on the 'bohemian' aspect.
I think the tour had changed from when I booked (January) to when we went (May) as I think there was less food and more drinks than I had read. I would suggest making the start time later in the evening if there isn't going to be enough food to make the tour be your dinner - maybe 7 or 7:30 instead. Paula was a wonderful guide, we really liked her. She was so friendly and fun and it felt like a friend was taking us around the city, not a tour guide or stranger!
Kiri was an amazing tour guide! He was friendly, caring and very organised. At the end of the tour he made sure all participants knew how to get back to their hotels - this was a nice touch as it was our first night in Tokyo and we were still getting our bearings :)
Mekong delta trip - overall, great. However, one thing to note - it was disappointing to notice how much rubbish was in the water/ mangroves as we went up the small pier to the coconut candy cottage industry. Quite possibly not even of their own making, but washed up on their 'patch'. It's very off putting, wanting tourists to support things like this, but seeing the local folk not even take any pride in presenting their own environment well. Wouldn't take much to work on that. Quang was a great guide.
This was a wonderful exploration of Georgetown's various food cultures. Our guide Juni ensured we had many opportunities to see how vendors prepared exotic food and they were always so welcoming and quite happy to be photographed as they worked. We ate only in authentic, local places - highly recommended.
Tour guide was fantastic, very knowledgeable, engaging and funny.
Excellente tour to Tirimbina -yummy chocolate tour to see and taste the production of chocolate from the bean to the savory smooth chocolate. . . .swinging bridges walk to a fabulous hike in the foresty jungle with LOTS of ID's of plants, trees, animals, birds, insects. Highly recommend for a day trip OUT of the the city and enjoy the REAL Costa Rica country.
I had tried to pick a tour that covered a different itinerary as I had previously been to Istanbul before and was already staying in Sultanahmet. The guide was great and knowledgeable but the tour was just okay for me as we spent close to 2 hours at the Blue Mosque and Hippodrome (both places I had previously been to and walked by daily) while our guide patiently answered beginner questions on Islam. My experience was also soured by being required to wear a skirt covering over top of my long pants despite being dressed modestly. None of this was the fault of the guide but this had lowered my experience.
Good tour. Guide could have been more enthusiastic. People with passion for their city, country, lifestyle would be great for a position within your company. Tour guides should try to get to know a few of each of the shop keepers along the tour. so the shop keepers would be excited to see us and hopefully sell us some of their items. I felt we were in the way sometimes. Would recommend your guild to have a flag, sign, or umbrella with the name "Urban Adventure" on it so the meeting point and finding them would be easier. Also, directions are good but if you're not familiar with the area, then having the directions in the native language (Spanish) would be good. I got lost trying to find the meeting place and if they were in Spanish (as well as English), then I might have had a little help from the local in finding the correct meeting place. Other than that, I enjoyed the tour and the ability to try some local items.
This was an excellent day made even more enjoyable by Nic. He expressed his passion for Prague and his job through fluent articulate speech. I would definitely recommend him to friends & family.
Thoroughly enjoyed this, my first Urban Tour. Elisabeth was an excellent and enthusiastic guide. The food and wine were excellent tasters and the knowledge imparted about Venice was really interesting.
We loved our food tour of Lucca with Deborah Oct.7/15. She understood our interests and communicated very well, while helping us understand culture, history and food traditions of Lucca
The trip was fabulous. Our Leader Wawa did an amazing job! She was very patient, friendly, helpful and pleasant.
I have no complaints at all. Arthur was an awesome guide.
We did the Historic District tour with Josh S. He was fun and knowledgeable. It was a great experience and we'd do it again. We will definitely look for Urban Adventures opportunities in the future. .
This was a great trip and really did give me a different view of Beverly Hills from the quick stroll down Rodeo Drive that I did last time. I loved seeing the diner hidden in the back of the pharmacy and we got to taste some great sweet treats along the way. It was also really interesting learning the history of the city and how it has changed over the years to become what it is now.
Nhi was an excellent, enthusiastic, knowledgeable guide.
The tour was excellent, and Patrick was excellent. Nice to experience the city outside of our comfort zone.
The guide Gof is very nice guide. Im very happy to travel with her
Priceless local gems , a superb tour giving away priceless local knowledge you simply cant get without having someone who lives there, Giovana was amazing and a great guide. Recommend to everyone I have met so far ... Thanks Dave
Lulu, our guide for the trip, did a great job showing us around Kyoto. The bikes were well maintained and the course was very enjoyable. We would have missed out on a lot of interesting facts and places had we tried to visit these locations on our own. After the tour she showed us a great ramen restaurant and gave us some advise for our plans after the tour.
So glad I decided to book the Kayak tour. Kent, Dave, Sarah and Gina were all really friendly and gave us plenty of information about the local area and a little bit of architectural/structural transformations along the Yarra River. The trip was awesome and I would definitely recommend to others and hope to do it again myself!
Brian was awesome! He picked some really cool spots to check out and he knew so much about the culture and history of the area. My only complaint was that the group was a little large (14 people) so that made it feel crowded at times when we were in the bars. Thank you Brian for being a great tour guide! We will definitely be back.
It was 45 degrees Celcius in Delhi, but Konica was a great guide and I was very fortunate to be the only one on the tour...
The sights and bites tour with Fanni was excellent. She showed us all the hidden gems in Budapest and we learnt about the culture and history in between tasting the delicious food. Highlights included the chocolate bon bons, the 3 kinds of fish and the goulash in a traditional restaurant. Highly recommend to fully experience everything that Budapest has to offer.
We were very pleased with Josh and his enthusiasm for Philadelphia! It was a nice small group, and we received a great overview of the city. I would highly recommend this tour!
This experience was out of this world. I have Eric, the guide to thank for this. I enjoyed the hike, the sloths, the frog, the ants, the iguana, the birds, the bats, the rain, the bridge, the monkeys, the flowers, the food, the shops, etc. And yes, the chocolate. How could anyone ever forget the chocolate. My fellow travelers also made this trip complete. We all enjoyed the trip. It was a "perfect" day.
