Facilities at Volunteer Accommodation:
The Volunteer Accommodation is located just 6km from the airport and is within walking distance from the Old City, the night market, and ATMs. This small facility has 6 air-conditioned rooms with four beds or two bunk beds, a fan, and a shared bathroom with a hot shower. The house is outfitted with wi-fi, hot water, a washing machine, a refrigerator, and computers for volunteer use. The house has one shared lock-box for passports and other small valuables, but please consider bringing your own locks for suitcases. Purified drinking water will be provided.
For the participant’s convenience and safety, the following staff is available at the accommodation:
LOCATION MANAGER: The camp manager acts as an administrator of the camp facility & is responsible for the safety and well-being of the guests.
SUPPORT STAFF: The support staff includes a chef, a helper, and a housekeeper among others. The support staff is committed to creating an enjoyable and comfortable stay for guests.
*Please contact us to know more exact details of facilities. If the volunteer housing is full, you will be accommodated in a nearby hotel.
Chiang Mai literally means “new city” and has retained the name despite being well over 700 years old. Chiang Mai is one of the few places in Thailand where it is possible to experience both historical and modern Thai culture coexisting side by side: the city features centuries-old pagodas and temples next to modern convenience stores and boutique hotels. For many years, travellers have thought of Chiang Mai simply as the base from which they could plan trekking and rafting trips to hill tribe villages and explore other provinces. However, once there, a traveller is in for a pleasant surprise. There are so many things to discover in Chiang Mai in addition to its beautiful and historic temples. Intriguing diversity among ethnic tribes, a number of elephant camps, cooking and massage schools, outdoor activities, handicrafts workshops, cultural performances, and breathtaking scenery make Chiang Mai one of Asia’s most attractive tourist destinations.
Please note that this is a sample itinerary. All of the mentioned experiences will be included, but the dates and scheduling of these activities are subject to change.
Please note that if you wish to volunteer with a project that works with children, you will have to undergo and pass a criminal records background check prior to arrival. You must make these preparations in your home country and send us the results prior to your trip so that we can confirm your volunteer project placement.
Due to concerns regarding the treatment and welfare of captive elephants in Southeast Asia, we are no longer offering activities involving elephant rides or elephant trekking. If you are interested in participating you can arrange it personally on site.
