Start and end in Chiang Mai, the tour Northern Thailand Hike & Homestays is a guided trekking tour that takes 8 days. You will travel through Chiang Mai, PA Bong and Mae Hong Son in Thailand. Northern Thailand Hike & Homestays is a small group tour which includes accommodation, transport, meals and others.

This trek offers travellers an unparalleled insight into the rich biodiversity, cultures and customs of Thailand's northern hinterlands. Join us on this remarkable adventure exploring the pristine forests of Thailand's northern hinterlands near the border with Myanmar. Reviving an ancient trade route, the program offers travellers an unparalleled insight into the region's rich biodiversity, cultures and customs. Our journey starts from Khun Khan National Park with its lush jungles and unspoilt forests along the little known Old Elephant Trail. This trek offers travellers an unparalleled insight into the rich biodiversity, cultures and customs of Thailand's northern hinterlands but with the construction of a road in the 1950s, the trail was abandoned. After years of solitude, the trail is now the perfect route for adventurers and nature enthusiasts alike. Traversing over ridgelines and through forest covered hills and mist-enveloped mountains, travellers will trek through some of Thailand's most remote natural areas and be rewarded with sweeping panoramas of lush forests and wildlife-spotting opportunities in the mountains. Evenings on the trek are spent amongst the locals providing an opportunity to learn about traditional culture and a life style unchanged for generations.

Review for another World Expeditions tour
“Romi Tamang our guide was an excellent communicator who entertained us, informed us and cared for those of us who needed special help from time to time. Our sherpas, Tendi and Dhiraj were also wonderful. Our cook, Lembe, produced wonderful varied meals using local produce. We could not have been fed and looked after more expertly.”

Review for another World Expeditions tour
“My trip / Ultimate Annapurna Dhaulagiri trek was amazing. The advice & communication from World Expeditions, prior to departure was excellent. Their recommended accommodation in Kathmandu (Radisson), exceeded my expectations & the 30% discount on massage / spa services at the Day Spa, was also appreciated post trek. The trek logistics were handled with minimum of fuss and the accommodation was also as comfortable as could be reasonably expected on a remote trek. The trek staff, Soonaam - guide / leader, Canta - Sherpa guide, Santa - Cook & the 2 Porters all did a fantastic job in making our trek a comfortable & incredible experience. Particular thanks to our trek leader / guide, Soonaam, for patiently sharing his extensive knowledge & insights, (including teaching us some local card games). In summary, the trek organisation, support, the local staff, the magnificent scenery on the World Expeditions, Ultimate Annapurna Dhaulagiri trek, and the Nepalese people all contributed and my fellow trekkers, to a very incredible & memorable experience.”

Review for another World Expeditions tour
“The tour exceeded our expectations as our guide (Fred) always gave us an opportunity to see more fabulous sites beyond the itinerary provided. We maximised out time trekking and the picnic locations were great. I would strongly recommend taking the options of Antelope canyon to anyone taking the trip.”
