“Destination Services Costa Rica is a smaller company and I couldn't find out allot about them, but their Exotic Costa Rica tour lined up better with what we were hoping to see on our visit. Communication was not direct, so I didn't always feel we were on the same page. In the end, EVERYTHING was line up in a wonderful manner .....accomdations; tours; and transfers! Transfers were not only on time.... they were there early. All accommodations were in nice condition overall, and staff were very accommodating. You will not have a tour leader or guide that stays with you through the trip. However, in all instances the hotels had all the information on what, where, and when for us. I would certainly travel through them again, and recommend you to consider Destination Services Costa Rica on your journey to Costa Rice!”

“Fantastic trip for me as it had all my favourite activities - wildlife and birdwatching, archaeology/history, and water-based activities eg. canoeing, boat and lagoon trips, swimming and particularly fantastic snorkelling. We were very unfortunate with the weather at Placencia so all boat trips were cancelled. Wilfred decided to leave Tikal earlier to see if we could get earlier ferry to Caye Caulker - we didn't manage this but still managed to organise a 2 -hour snorkelling trip on arrival, which was great, and partly made up for the lost trip at Placencia. I don't understand why you shortened the trip at Caye Caulker, because the snorkelling and other boating activities there are superb. I was very envious of the 3 people with the extra night there. I realise you changed it because of some criticism in the past - but nearly everyone on our trip went specifically to Belize, rather than any other Central American country because of the excellent snorkelling. It is also not that unusual to have a spell of adverse weather so you need more than 2 whole days on trip for possible trips. There are also lots of boat trip potential even if you are not interested in getting in the water.”

“The tour was very good. Even though we went during the rainy season, they worked with the situation every day it rained. If you come prepared, it should not be a problem. And by coming prepared, that means bring a poncho, umbrella, rain jacket, and a change of clothes when they become wet from rain and sweat. The hotels were comfortable, the food was good, the locals were friendly, and treated us fairly in pricing. The only issue is that they should have made a better effort to describe the physical requirements of the tour. We went on 5 long walks where 3 were VERY strenuous. We are in our 70s and it was very challenging. Thank goodness we had our trekking poles to assist in one walk in the Hanging Bridges. We had to stop several times to catch our breath but the younger people went on and left us behind. Thank goodness the guy leading the tour stayed with us.”
