Wine Tour in Swartland

Visit the Swartland region that starts a little more than 30 miles outside of Cape Town and is home to numerous top-grade wineries. Spend the day meeting the winemakers and other people who have made this region so popular. Although grapes have been cultivated in Swartland for over three hundred years, it’s only in the last decade that its wines have become massively popular with adventurous wine geeks, sommeliers and other like-minded winemakers.

Start your morning at Huis Van Chevallerie, the only MCC producer in the Swartland area. Taste its wine and walk down its vineyard. Head for a wine-tasting and cellar-tour experience at a neighbouring producer before moving down the road to Lammershoek for yet another session of wine tasting followed by a traditional South African lunch.

Before you reach the end of the tour, stop in at the quirky Wine Kollective, a boutique wine store in the heart of Riebeek Kasteel, for a unique wine tasting and shopping experience.
