The trip Ethiopia, Gorillas & The Cape starts from Cape Town and ends in Gondar. This is an adventure trip that takes 114 days. You will travel through Victoria Falls, Bulawayo, Lilongwe and 63 other destinations visiting Namibia, Kenya and 8 more countries. This is a guided group tour. The trip includes accommodation, transport, meals and others.

Experience some of the most awe-inspiring sights that East and Southern Africa has to offer; from the tribes, mountains, forests and plains of East Africa to the wildlife parks and deserts of the south.

Wander the streets of Lalibela as you go in search of the rock-hewn churches in the seldom-visited country of Ethiopia. As well as seeing some of this countries amazing historical architecture you’ll also witness its varied wildlife and landscapes, from the Danakil Depression to the lush vistas of the Simien Mountains National Park.

Along the way you will experience at very close quarters Africa's most spectacular wildlife and visit some of its finest national parks, such as the Serengeti, Masai Mara in the east and Chobe and Etosha in the south.

We’ll get you truly get off the beaten track as you overland between Ethiopia and Kenya, enjoying a homestay with the Samburu people of northern Kenya. Further along the way you’ll meet mountain gorillas and chimpanzees in Uganda and elephants, lions, cheetahs and more in Tanzania and Kenya and again in Botswana and in Namibia. However, it's the raw experience of walking safaris to find white rhino in Zimbabwe and canoeing down Zambian rivers in the Lower Zambezi region that get you right up close to Africa's flora and fauna.

A wonderfully varied journey, you’ll witness the staggering changes of the landscapes and cultures as you drive along this long but rewarding route.

Jennifer's review for another Dragoman tour
“Both Sinead and Oli did fanatastic jobs in, at times, trying circumstances. Sinead's organisational skills were really good ensuring that all passengers were happy. Oli was excellent, he was constantly checking the truck for safety and general maintenance. He was always in good cheer and made himself available to passengers to answer any questions.”

Local Payment The local payment is a group fund, paid separately from the trip price on the first day of the tour. It covers everything that the group does together on the ground. This is primarily hotel accommodation and campsite fees, meals whilst camping (but not while eating in restaurants), and included activities and puts money directly back to the local community. The local payment, or kitty system, is unique to overlanding tours and provides maximum flexibility and best value on the road - you can see exactly what is being paid for, you get everything at cost price, it keeps costs competitive by leveraging group expenses and saves on administrative costs. The fund is run by the tour guide, and any excess left over at the end is returned equally to the group. Local prices are estimated in USD when we print the brochure then reviewed monthly as local costs and exchange rates vary throughout the year. It's therefore important once you book your trip to check the website regularly and just before departure for any changes to the amount.
