If you’re travelling in search of temples, Cambodia is the destination for you. A tour of Angkor Wat, a sprawling temple complex in Siem Reap from the Khmer Empire, should be at the very top of your bucket list! Phnom Penh is also worth a trip - though a busy capital city, it is full of cultural, religious and historic sites to explore.

“My wife and I recently returned from an incredible trip to Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and Laos. Excellently planned tour. All went smoothly, and we had terrific days. We loved that we saw a little bit of every country and its major highlights, but it wasn't rushing from place to place, we had plenty of free time and visited some places which are not for mass tourism. Esther did an excellent job in planning and coordinating all local guides, flights, and tours. It went perfectly. Many thanks to the travel specialist”

“You shouldn't go on this trip because we don't want to share this amazing experience with anyone else :) The arrangements were ideal for us to explore and relax so that we would have enough energy to enjoy our time there. The cruise in Halong Bay was a highlight, and what I liked about it was I had lots of beautiful pics of us and the fantastic views of the rocks to post on Instagram :) Views in Cambodia and Thailand were absolutely stunning too. I loved every day of this holiday and already miss Asia.”

“The wonderful and insightful tour which absolutely worth the money. We have done quite a fair bit of research on tours to Cambodia and then we decided on this tour with this travel specialist. That's the best decision ever. Agent Tessa responded so quickly to any concerns, she was knowledgeable, and helpful and gave good suggestions after listening to our intentions and desires. The Angkor temples were very impressive, and the guide told us so many interesting things, and Siem Reap was perfect for cycling. Another unforgettable moment was climbing the 350+ steps to an Angkor-era mountaintop temple - Phnom Banan in Battambang. Despite being tired, we were all fully satisfied by the wonderfully peaceful setting of the countryside. It was definitely worth a look. Overall, 5 stars for all.”

Cambodia - Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

Grandeur and colonial charm await you in Cambodia. With jaw-dropping architectural gems, including the intricately detailed Angkor temples, floating villages, and laid-back island beaches, Cambodia’s tourism industry has grown significantly over the past 10 years. All the same, many parts of Cambodia remain relatively unexplored by tourists. This small country has an incredibly complex history to discover, along with wonderfully welcoming people to meet. What's holding you back from taking a trip to Cambodia?

Tour Highlights

  • Explore Angkor Wat, the world’s largest religious monument
  • Visit Battambang, a preserved colonial-era town
  • See the richly decorated carvings of Bayon temple
  • Spot a rare Irrawaddy dolphin in Kratie
  • Stare in awe at the Silver Pagoda at the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh

  • Learn about the history of Khmer Rouge at the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum

Travel Tips

  • Despite terrible periods in Cambodia’s history, the country today is a safe place to visit. Stick to the tourist areas as much as possible. When travelling to remote areas, stick to the marked paths to avoid any undiscovered landmines.
  • November to March is the most popular time to visit Cambodia when the weather is not-too-hot and not-too-wet. July to August is shoulder season, and a great time to visit for lush scenery and fewer crowds - if you don’t mind wet weather.
  • While Cambodia’s currency is the Riel, it is far more common for tourists to pay in US dollars. In fact, most prices in shops and restaurants will be quoted in US dollars. However, most hotels and restaurants also accept credit cards.
  • Never touch somebody on the head in Cambodia, as this is considered to be the most sacred part of the body.
  • Do as the locals do and smile! Cambodians are known for always having a smile on their face - reciprocate!

Cambodia has seasonal weather so please do check up on the best time to visit Cambodia before planning your tour to the country
