“This was a great way to see the Balkans Albania and Bulgaria. It was good being in a small group meant there was much more time to explore but also have time to do activities ourselves.”

“The tour was a small group so we had lots of additional time and our guide was very informative and helpful in every way. The location of hotels were all centrally located so made exploring and walking to places of interest so easy.”

“Interesting but transportation Kotor to Dubrovnik was insane. Drive 3 extra hours cross 2 border plus 10:30 am wine tasting not wanted because Tucan stupidly hired a bus company that can not use direct beautiful coastal road . No washroom for hrs”

“I found the tour (locations visited) 4.25/5 but I found it poor value for money. If you were serious about feedback you wouldn't limit me to 255 characters I ran out of space.”

“I enjoyed this tour. Learned a lot about the Balkans. Doing our own excursions mostly was good as folks had different interests. Stays were always a bit rushed but the tour was the right length overall. Add Kosovo. Very close but then ignored.”
Wild Bulgaria: Winter Walk and Snowshoe Reviewed Tour: Wild Bulgaria: Winter Walk & Snowshoe
5 - Excellent
“This was a very varied trip, which included sightseeing in the old town of Plovdiv (impressive Roman remains, immense town walls and elegant merchants houses) and at the Bachovo monastery on our way to the Rodopi mountains, some lovely ridge walks with stunning panoramic views across the mountain range and down the impressive limestone gorges, visits to two very different show caves, several hours in a game reserve (followed by a night in a spa hotel) and some very enjoyable short walks on transfer days. We finished with an overnight stay in Sofia, and had the opportunity to have a brief look round the major sites before our transfer to the airport.”
Wild Bulgaria - a revelation Reviewed Tour: Wild Bulgaria: Winter Walk & Snowshoe

“Never having been to Bulgaria before, we didn't really know what to expect. However we were attracted to this holiday because of the variety it offered. Although we had freezing temperatures, the holiday well surpassed our expectations. We were kept active with beautiful mountain walks; yet we also managed to see interesting architecture in Plovdiv, go on an animal safari, before having a swim in the luxury spa hotel in Devin, visit some astonishing caves in the Rodopi, have half a day in Sofia and see an ancient monastery. On top of all that there was a cookery lesson and local singing and dancing in Yagodina.. There was just so much to this break. Although the snow wasn't deep enough for snowshoeing, the scenery looked like a wonderful winter wonderland and we had the whole area to ourselves. We had an excellent guide who shared her extensive knowledge of the area and people with us, and we were also accompanied on most of our walks by a good- natured village hunting dog. Everywhere we stayed we had great food and accommodation and the hotel staff in Yagodina were particulary welcoming and friendly.”
Beautiful walks in a remote part of Bulgaria Reviewed Tour: Bulgaria: Rodopi Mountains

“It was a very enjoyable trip in a remote part of the country. I didn't hear about Rodopi mountains before so didn't know what to expect. The scenery is absolutely stunning - mountains, forests, gorges, caves - all so untouched and beautiful! I enjoyed all the walks and we never saw any other walkers - it was amazing to have it all just to ourselves. We also had a chance to see how local people live. It was a nice, relaxing week and the group bonded pretty quickly!”
