Starting in Buenos Aires and ending in Santiago, the trip Patagonia & Beyond is a guided trekking tour that takes 34 days. You will be traveling through Cerro Castillo National Reserve, Santiago, Tierra Del Fuego National Park and 14 other destinations in Argentina and Chile. Patagonia & Beyond is a group trip which includes accommodation, transport, meals and others. Please see the package includes section for further details.

This trip links up two of the most cosmopolitan cities of South America, Santiago and Buenos Aires and allows us to explore the real wilderness of the two countries of Argentina and Chile - it's all about Patagonia. It's a journey for lovers of the outdoors, with plenty of camping in national parks of outstanding natural beauty, and the chance to trek, climb, bike, and horse ride through some breathtaking scenery.

Perhaps the highlight will be the 5 day visit to Torres del Paine National Park, where there will be plenty of time to trek the W Walk; or maybe riding or trekking around the magnificent Los Glaciares National Park around the dramatic peaks of Mount Fitz Roy will be your highlight but there is so much more, with Gauchos, horses, the spectacular Lake District with its twin towns of Bariloche and Pucon or the penguins and right whales of the Peninsula Valdes.

All the while we are criss-crossing the frontiers of Chile and Argentina before heading north, away from the windswept wilds and into the Pampas, the hot, dry heartland of Argentina and the great Salsa city of Buenos Aires.

We are partnered with the Torres del Paine Legacy Fund, who work to enhance the long-term health of Torres del Paine and its surrounding communities.

Local Payment The local payment is a group fund, paid separately from the trip price on the first day of the tour. It covers everything that the group does together on the ground. This is primarily hotel accommodation and campsite fees, meals whilst camping (but not while eating in restaurants), and included activities and puts money directly back to the local community. The local payment, or kitty system, is unique to overlanding tours and provides maximum flexibility and best value on the road - you can see exactly what is being paid for, you get everything at cost price, it keeps costs competitive by leveraging group expenses and saves on administrative costs. The fund is run by the tour guide, and any excess left over at the end is returned equally to the group. Local prices are estimated in USD when we print the brochure then reviewed monthly as local costs and exchange rates vary throughout the year. It's therefore important once you book your trip to check the website regularly and just before departure for any changes to the amount.
