“A memorable and enjoyable holiday, as much for its' educational interest as the activity itself. Living and walking among the recent turbulent history of Sarajevo was fascinating. Hearing events from those who experienced them first hand, delivered with respect and dignity, was very humbling. The landscape we snowshoed through was very picturesque;beech and conifer woods, far reaching vistas of distant mountain ranges, lowland pastures dotted with haystacks. The Bosnain people were very hospitable, friendly and accomodating too.”

“A week before we set out we wondered if it would happen because of too much snow, but it did and we had a great time. It wasn't possible to do the itinerary as planned because of the amount of snow but the leaders always had good alternatives to ensure we could enjoy the trip.”

“Potentially a brilliant trip, but needs some fine tuning. The Day Plans need reviewing - e.g Day 4 we did the beautiful ferry ride to the village of Rose, then headed up a pretty wicked incline but were stopped after 4km's for a +2hr olive grove tour! We then had to cycle on until gone 5pm in the rain to the outskirts of Kotor...there must be another olive grove...everybody complained about the early location of the stop. Equally Day 5 has that excellently sadistic 29 switchback climb up to Lovcen National Park...awesome..but why stop at the isolated alpine-style hotel, we were there by 3pm and were all bored senseless...made even worse by the relatively short ride the next morning to the historically fascinating (and with a much better supply of restaurants) town of Cetinje. We all agreed that we should have overnighted there rather than in the blasted hills. So, yes, a really good trip but the route needs some tweaking.”

“This is a trip of endless views round every mountainous corner - beautiful country, wine, food and people. Loved Mostar and Dubrovnik - and well worth going early for a Dubrovnik city break pre bike tour - thankfully organised by Exodus. The cycling is great and the climbs are long - but it's worth it for the descents. Truly great holiday and helped massively by such great guides, especially the lovely Sabina.”

“This trip was graded as moderate/challenging and that was spot on! Apart from the first day, every day involved hill climbs and some steep descents. The scenery was magnificent and was ever changing. No one day was the same and my breath was taken away at every twist and turn in the road. Some of the off road section are not for the feint hearted but are easily negotiable with care. Cycling was a fantastic way to see these fabulous countries. A mix of culture was added to the pot through local cuisine and wine tasting.”

“This was my first trip to this part of the world and went with an open mind regarding the turbulent recent history of the country but what I found was a wonderfully warm, hospitable and friendly country with no hangover from the past. The walking was truly wonderful with spectacular views wherever you looked, from the magnificent Sutjeska national park where Bosnia's highest mountain (Maglic) resides along with some wonderful ancient forests to the mountains around Sarajevo and the visit to Bosnia's highest inhabited village (1469m). Walking in the Bosnian mountains really is a hidden gem and something anyone that enjoys walking should do before the world finds out about this. The city trips of both Sarajevo and Mostar were equally a great part of the trip and both city guides were not only informative and knowledgeable but also warm, friendly and answered every question that was put to them.”

“Apart from hiking there is a big emphasis on getting to know the history of the area, which I really appreciated. Bosnia is a beautiful and friendly country and you will enjoy getting to know it better. We found local people really keen to talk, even if we didn't share many words. We enjoyed really perfect weather.”

“Fine walking in a very interesting part of Europe. Lots of turbulent history! But now peaceful and accommodating.”
