“Really well organised, with nice extra information and a pretty care for the traveller. The 4D/3N to Machu Picchu was a challenge in hours of walking, but our nice guide got us trough with beautiful environment! 4D/3N Uyuni Salt Flats was relaxed, by jeeps to a lot of beautiful nature!!”

“Very interesting and well organised. Great guides throughout. Wonderful scenery and cities. This was our first time in South America and it won't be our last. We were the only two on the trip as it was early in the season (March start), but was no problem. In fact it is highly recommended.”

“The 9 of us had an amazing trip which was personalized for us. We were met in each country and had very knowledgeable passionate and enthusiastic local guide. Very obliging with anything we wanted to do and suggested extra things for us to explore and visit. Enjoyed the different types of accommodation. It seemed to fit the country or area we were in.”

Bolivia - Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

As one of only two landlocked countries in the Americas, Bolivia is considered one of the world's most remote countries - making it even more exciting to discover! The tourism industry in Bolivia has been slow to start but is quickly picking up pace with most visitors coming for holidays and trips from its neighbouring countries of Brazil and Chile. This country is incredibly diverse when it comes to both geography and culture, with plenty of natural phenomenon and traditional experiences to explore.

Tour Highlights

  • Explore the Chincana ruins on Isla del Sol
  • Snap photos at Salar de Uyuni, the world's largest salt flat
  • Hike the Che Guevara Trail
  • Visit the indigenous people of the Uros Islands
  • Take a boat ride across Lake Titicaca
  • Visit the Witches Market in La Paz

Travel Tips

  • Be very careful when taking a taxi in Bolivia. Robberies and other crimes within taxis are increasingly common, particularly in large cities. Only use a 'radio taxi' - a taxi that has the company name and telephone number on its roof - and take note of the registration number whenever possible.
  • Bolivian airports are an experience on their own. When arriving, keep all your entry paperwork with you as your hotel will likely ask for it. Upon departure, arrive at least two to three hours early for paperwork processing and be prepared to pay an extra airport tax.
  • US dollars can be difficult to exchange in Bolivia with many banks and exchange companies only accepting brand new bills. To save yourself the hassle, try to get your hands on some bolivianos (the national currency) before you travel.
  • Be sure to pack sunscreen for your trip to Bolivia, as UV levels are extremely high.
  • Be flexible and always have a plan B for your trip to Bolivia. Bolivians have a relaxed sense of time. This, combined with frequent strike and protests, means public transport is often unreliable.

Bolivia has seasonal weather so please do check up on best time to visit Bolivia before planning your tour.
