- Discover the first Colombia's wonder
- Enjoy Bogotá's sabana landscapes
- A must to do in Bogota
The territory now occupied by Zipaquirá, a city where Gabriel García Márquez went to school, was an important centre of trade with salt - vital to preserve food - before the arrival of the conquistadors. This mineral, the essence of the town (founded on July 18, 1600), is abundant in the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, a religious sanctuary built in an underground salt mine.
On this tour, aside from seeing great attractions you´ll know the process of salt forming, the dome and get experience of the salt mining process. You will also enjoy an incredible light show that will make your day truly magical.
Also during the route to Zipaquirá you’ll appreciate the Sábana, characterized by beautiful landscapes.
