We have some exciting new adventures (and some classic recommendations) for you. Let’s make this spring break one that will forever stay in your memory, shall we?
Skiing in Iceland
Spring might be about the sun for a lot of people, but some of us have a deep yearning for the snowy days of summer. If you’re waxing nostalgic for snowy winters, you should definitely head to Bláfjöll Recreation and Ski Center for skiing in Iceland.
If you want to take your adventure one step ahead, head to Deplar Farm, where you can experience the adrenaline rush of going heli-skiing! If that’s not your cup of tea, you can always soak in one of the hot-springs, or snowmobiling as well!
Surfing in Kauai
The Hanalei Bay in Kauai is one of the world’s most popular surfing destinations. It is the favorite of many world-renowned surfers and paddlers. While winter draws in a number of 25 ft. waves, the spring season is rather mellow, making it perfect for amateur surfers, and those looking to learn.
You can get professional surfing lessons from locals for incredibly cheap. Moreover, you can stay right next to the bay, and spend your entire break surfing and swimming!
Gorilla Safari in Uganda
Spring breaks are all about exploring and pushing yourself. If you want to do something out of the ordinary, you should definitely think about going to Uganda. Uganda is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Its natural beauty is unparalleled.
But, beyond a doubt, the most adventurous thing for you to do is gorilla trekking in Uganda! There are a number of trekking companies that can take you on a tour of Virunga Volcanoes, where you can come into close contact with mountain gorillas and golden monkeys!
Paddle-Boating in Santa Cruz Island
Santa Cruz is one of America’s most diverse ecological spots. Its beauty is immense, and it lends itself to a lot of adventure sports as well. If you are an adventure enthusiast, you will definitely want to explore the 100 caves that are scattered across the ocean line.
The only catch? You’re going to have to paddle-boat, or kayak to each cave! So, test your upper arm strength, and row along the coastline. You’ll feel like an ancient explorer who is out to find new lands!
Eagle Hunting in Mongolia
If you want to go off the grid this spring break and do something that will definitely make you the most interesting person in any party you go to for the rest of the year, head to Mongolia. It’s not the most popular tourist destination, but it has started to gain popularity over the years.
Mongolian steppes are still extremely remote, and you’re unlikely to get mobile coverage, but once you go on an eagle-hunting tour in Altai Mountains, spending the day riding horseback and hunting with your eagle, none of it will matter.
Cave Diving in Italy
Tuscany might not seem like the best spring break destination, at the get-go. After all, it is an incredibly polished and elegant destination, one where you’ll probably drink a lot of alcohol and sample cheese. But, within Tuscany, lies a great adventure.
The Grotta Giusti will blow your mind from the first sight. It is a 130 million-year-old cave, which has special steaming properties as well. You’ll have to swim down to the Grotto, which might be slightly challenging, but you will be rewarded with a 130 million-year-old steam room that will wash all your worries away.
Scuba Diving in Fiji
Fiji is probably the dreamiest spring break destination ever. This bucket list destination gives you an opportunity to explore Fijian culture, while also having the adventures of a lifetime! Fiji is the best place to go snorkeling, or scuba-diving. There are a number of places where you can learn how to do both, and even get a certification or two!
You can also go hiking in the rain-forests, do yoga by the beach, or sail from island to island! This is probably the ideal destination for spring breakers everywhere, especially those who want to have everything at once.
Boating in the Galapagos Island
Galapagos Island is the place where nature exists in its full majesty. Charles Darwin, as far back as 1850’s knew about the majesty of island, and the limitless opportunities it offered. The most unique adventure for you in Galapagos Island is to go paddle-boating.
There are many small islands and islets scattered across the waters, and you can take the paddle boat to explore the smallest cranny – you never know what you might end up finding! For all you know, you might discover a whole new species. You can also go hiking across the Sierra Negra, the second largest volcanic crater in the world!
Hike a Volcano in Costa Rica
Costa Rica has all the makings of an ideal spring break destination. It is beautiful and it has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. But if you’re an adrenaline junkie, you’re going to want to hike up the Poas Volcano.
This might not be the most difficult hike in the world, but you will be close to an active volcano, so there’s a special thrill in that! A stunning turquoise lake and lush green forests await you on the hike – so be prepared!
Belize is a small country, but it is one of Central America’s most beautiful nations. The country has over 400 beaches, so you can always travel to Belize to relax by the Oceanside. However, what makes Belize stand apart is its world class scuba diving options. There are hundreds of areas where you can go scuba diving, and swim along with the sharks, and the beautiful Belize Barrier Reef. But if you’re feeling like a daredevil, you can scuba dive into the Great Blue Hole, a mysterious sinkhole in the middle of the ocean.
