  • Explore the rugged coastline of the Aran Islands, with time to explore ruins and remains from the Bronze and Iron Age with your local leader.
  • Stroll through Belfast's city centre and learn about recent historical events brought to life in their monuments and buildings – one most notably being the story of the Titanic.
  • Revel in Dublin's energetic nightlife – it’ll feel like there’s a pub on nearly every corner, and its creative neighbourhoods are teeming with hip bars and eateries.

Is this trip right for you
  • Ireland can be cold at night throughout the year, especially at the start and end of the season. Please bring appropriate clothing for adverse weather conditions, including base layers, hat, gloves, scarf, waterproof clothes/umbrella and anything else that you think may be applicable.
  • As accommodation on this trip is twin share, single travellers will share a room with another traveller of the same gender. This trip is a great opportunity to get to know other like-minded people, so embrace it while you can. However, if you’d prefer not to share, a single room supplement is available at an additional charge (some exceptions may apply). Please ask your travel consultant for more details. Also, hotels in Europe can seem small by Australian or American standards, and often don't have double beds, but rather two single beds that can be pushed together/apart.
  • This trip is quite fast paced to make the most of your time in Ireland. We will take you on regular orientation walks, so you'll be on your feet quite a lot. While this may be tiring for some, it’s the best way to get your head around a place and to set yourself up for further discoveries. Please remember that on this trip you don't have a lot of time in Belfast and Dublin at the start and the end of the trip respectively, so if you're keen to explore these spectacular cities in depth we recommend you arrive a day or two before the start of the trip and/or extend your stay at the end.
COVID VACCINATION POLICY
  • Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 is no longer mandatory on departures after 1st January 2023. Nonetheless, all travellers are strongly advised to be vaccinated as a safety measure to protect themselves and others on the tour. This policy excludes all Polar trips and select adventure cruises, where testing and vaccination are required.
  • Also, proof of vaccination may still be required at specific entry points or by the airlines. Therefore, please make sure to check all the travel requirements carefully before travelling.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Find answers to the most frequently asked questions about this tour.
  • How many days are enough for Europe?

You can spend a couple of months exploring Europe and still feel like you have not seen everything. Generally speaking, a two-week Europe trip should be just enough if you are looking to cover its major highlights. However, if you want a comprehensive travel experience within this duration, it is better that you focus on a region or a few countries rather than traveling all over the continent.

Choose a single country or schedule your trip around a handful of cities in different countries. While larger European cities may require three to four days to explore, you can get around smaller destinations in a day or two. Planning your trip around a particular region will cut down your travel time and save your time in transit.

  • What is the currency in Ireland? Do they accept American dollars?

The euro is the official currency used in the Republic of Ireland. However, Northern Ireland uses the pound sterling, because it is a part of the United Kingdom. Ireland does not accept American dollars, so make sure to exchange your money for euros before leaving for Ireland. Converting US dollars to euros at the exchange counters in Ireland airports is not a good idea as they are known for charging hefty fees.

  • Is Ireland safe to travel to?

The Global Peace Index ranks Ireland as one of the safest countries in the world. That said, petty crime can happen and due to their high tourist traffic, Galway, Cork, and Dublin are prime targets for pickpocketing and bag theft. Always exercise caution while taking public transportation or touring city landmarks.

  • When is the best time to visit Ireland?

The ideal months to visit Ireland are March to May and September to November, when it is less hot and congested compared to summer. Despite occasional rain, Ireland usually has pleasant temperatures, making it possible to travel there all year round.

  • What to pack for trip to Ireland?

No matter when you are visiting Ireland, you should pack a warm sweater, waterproof jacket, and good walking shoes. Keep in mind that in Ireland, it is possible to experience all seasons and types of weather in a single day.
