Start in Beijing and end in Bishkek, the tour Kyrgyzstan & The Chinese Silk Route is a guided trekking tour that takes 43 days. You will be touring through Yan'an, Jinshanling, Kochkor and 17 other destinations in China, Singapore and Kyrgyzstan. The western end of the Silk Route, is arguably the most historic. This was the end that

started it all, when the Han Chinese emperor Wudi commissioned Zhang Qian to open up

trade to Central Asia and to map the route.

The link between the Central Asian country of Kyrgyzstan and China is the remote Torugart

Pass, and our route takes us through this high Tian Shan mountain pass to the fabled city of

Kashgar with its unique Sunday Market.

Then there is the vast Taklimakan Desert, the western end of the Gobi and some stunning

scenery complete with oasis towns of major historic importance to the Silk Road. The route

then climbs onto the lower slopes of the wild Tibetan Plateau through to the holy Tibetan

town of Xiahe. It’s not until we reach Xi’an that we really hit China’s tourist trail and that is

where the trip ends; it’s a perfect example of the importance of the journey and not the

No additional cancellation fees apply for this Kyrgyzstan & the Chinese Silk Route tour. You can cancel the tour up to 61 days prior departure and avoid paying the full amount, but your deposit paid is non-refundable. No refund applies for cancellations within 60 days of departure.


For any tour departures within 15 August 2021, full payment is required. For tours that depart later than 15 August 2021, a deposit is required to confirm this tour, and the remaining balance will be charged 60 days before trip departure.

Local Payment The local payment is a group fund, paid separately from the trip price on the first day of the tour. It covers everything that the group does together on the ground. This is primarily hotel accommodation and campsite fees, meals whilst camping (but not while eating in restaurants), and included activities and puts money directly back to the local community.
