During the Middle Ages St Francis of Assisi traversed the ridges and valleys of the Apennines, looking for God’s signs in nature and talking to people about peace, humility and brotherhood. Walking along the trail through Umbria, “the green heart of Italy” from Assisi to Spoleto you will be able to feel the presence of St Francis as you delve into the magnificent countryside, walking through forests, fields, vineyards and olive groves, with always a medieval town on a hill in sight. The villages you visit on the way have maintained their own identity and it seems that time has stood still. The highlights are endless, from beginning on the steps of the cathedral in Assisi, to absorbing the unique culture, sampling delectable cuisine, and ascending to viewpoints where breathtaking landscapes sweep below. Enjoy the hospitality of local hotels and agriturismo and delight in the achievement of walking along one of the most picturesque sections of the St Francis Way.

Day 2 : Ascend to the Eremo delle Carceri monastery and continue to Spello (5hrs)
Day 3 : Leisurely walk through olive groves and vineyards to Vegnole near Colle San Lorenzo (4hrs)
Day 4 : Transfer to Uppello and walk to Bovara di Trevi (5hrs)
Day 5 : Follow the official 'Via Francescana' to Poreta (4hrs)
Day 6 : Walk via an old monastery to Spoleto (4hrs)

CANCELLATION

No additional cancellation fees apply for this St Francis Way: Assisi to Spoleto tour. You can cancel the tour up to 72 days prior departure and avoid paying the full amount, but your deposit paid is non-refundable. No refund applies for cancellations within 71 days of departure.

Payment

For any tour departures within 30 June 2024, full payment is required. For tours that depart later than 30 June 2024, a deposit of 186 USD is required to confirm the tour, and the remaining balance will be charged 71 days before trip departure.
