Asia Tours and Trip Packages 2024/2025

Despite being the biggest and most populated continent, a trip to Asia still holds an air of mystery and intrigue for those unacquainted with her vast and ever-changing beauty. With 48 countries ranging from sub-arctic to tropical climates and thousands of indigenous languages spread across rich and ancient cultures, Asia is a place that enthralls travellers year after year.

Travel to the Manaslu Region
5 - Excellent
  • Hike Treks
“We had an amazing time with Pasang Sherpa, our trip leader, who has a wealth of knowledge about the Manaslu Tibetan settlement in the hidden kingdom of Nepal. The Manaslu Circuit Trek is a challenging and rewarding journey around the world's eighth highest mountain, Manaslu. It offers breathtaking views of Himalayan peaks, diverse landscapes, rich culture, and wildlife. The trek usually takes 11 to 14 days and requires a special permit. The highest point is Larkya La Pass, which stands at 5,106 meters. The best time to embark on this trek is during spring and autumn, when temperatures are moderate, the skies are clear, and there is less rainfall. The winter and monsoon seasons present more challenges and risks.”
10 day Bali experience with Monk
5 - Excellent
  • Storm Clarke
“Now on way home from the 10 day Bali experience with Monk as our tour guide. Nothing was too much trouble, any time of the day he helped/assisted us with anything we needed. All recommendations were 10/10 every time. A few activities wasn’t for me but Monk gave us ideas on what else we could do instead. I will definitely be returning to do another tour.”
Manaslu and Annapurna
5 - Excellent
  • Thomas J Henderson
“My wife and I highly recommend this experience. We have nothing but amazing things to say about the trek. Our guide Raju Kandel, his tour company and its owner and manager Khum Subedi. I will review all three here: I will start by describing our trek. We booked a 22 day trek of the Manaslu circuit followed by the Annapurna circuit, including Poon Hill and ending in Pokhara, from March 15 to April 5. We took a local bus from Kathmandu to Machhakhola to start the Manaslu circuit. It took us 11 days to complete this circuit to Dharapani, which is where we started the Annapurna circuit. We did not trek the Tsum Valley due to time constraints. The main Manaslu cuicuit was spectacular. Only one day comprised of Jeep road trekking for portions of the day. Many epic suspension bridges, many colourful villages along the way. We were impressed by the mission statement of the Manaslu Conservation Area Project in reducing environmental impact of trekking and supporting the local people. We met locals along the way, and where even invited into a local home for traditional Tibetan tea and Sisnu (nettle) soup that we collected on the trail. We got to partake in a local celebration including dancing and community Momo feast. We visiting the tranquil monastery in Lho, and passed by other monasteries with traditional music and ritual. The accommodations were satisfactory, we typically were able to pay for a hot shower expect at the highest elevation villages in the 2 night prior to Larke pass. The food was way beyond my expectations. We ate Dal Bhat every day, sometimes twice a day, and did not tire of this dish. Each restaurant had their own variation on the dish and the fresh vegetables were delicious. The day of the pass was difficult but the views are spectacular. Birendra lake was spectacular and worth a visit. The Annapurna section boasted more panoramic mountain views, different type of forest scenery and slightly more polished accommodations. It had more trekkers than Manaslu and more of the trek included the Jeep Road, however at most we would see 5-10 cars per day on the road. Thorong La pass was also a memorable experience. We took a bus from Muktinath to Tatopani and I do not think we missed much skipping this portion of the trek (dry arid and dusty area). From Tatopani ato Ghorepani was spectacular jungle and rhododendron forrst trekking. Overall it was the most varied, beautiful, culturally immersive, and delicious trek I have done. Our guide Raju Kandel was fantastic and went beyond what I expected from a guide. He was a joy to trek with and very professional. He took our safety as top concern, regarding altitude symptom monitoring, and how to navigate around the animals that share the path for examples. We later learned he has experience in mountain search and rescue. He has done the Manaslu circuit for many years, and has a relationship with the locals in the guest houses and restaurants along the way. He was able to call ahead to reserve rooms at the best accommodations, pick the most delicious Dal Bhat restaurants, plan the days in order to see key sights along the way, network with locals we met along the path to translate our questions and even get an offer for a visit into a home for food and tea. He taught us Nepali trekking songs and key phrases. He learned what our interests and preferences where along the trek and was able to tailor the experience for us. He got us into the kitchen at most smaller Tea Houses on Manaslu circuit to witness the cooking our our meals. Without Raju as our guide, our experience would not have been as personal or immersive. This was a fantastic agency to book our trek with. Its owner and manager Khum Subedi was friendly, professional and went the extra mile. He personally picked us up at our hotel on the first day of the trek. He helped us navigate an issue we had with another agency (and luckily we ended up not booking with the other agency), again going the extra mile. He ensures a debrief meeting with his trekkers, demonstrating his commitment to providing the best experience for the trekkers that book through his organization. Overall very pleased with the entire experience. It was the adventure of a lifetime.”

Asia - Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

It can often seem difficult to know where to start when considering holidays in Asia. Don’t let the gigantic size of Asia intimidate you. With enough research and some careful planning, you can see the best that Asia has to offer. Take part in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony, conquer the Great Wall of China, bask in the glory of the Taj Mahal or wander through the bright lights during a night out in Bangkok.

Travel Highlights

  • Skip the souvenir shops and peruse some of the largest markets in the world. From street food to artisanal goods, Asia’s markets have it all like the Chatuchak market in Bangkok, which is one of the world’s largest weekend markets or the Sukawati art market in Bali. Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo offers some of the freshest sushi you’ll ever taste.
  • Explore your spirituality by practising yoga and meditation in Varanasi along the Ganges river or visit a Buddhist monastery in Tibet.
  • Stroll through the rice terraces of blissful Bali.
  • Explore Northern Thailand, Central Laos or Northern Vietnam on two wheelers with the wind in your hair.
  • Get glitzy in Almaty, Kazakhstan’s bustling bars, sophisticated shopping malls and mesmerising museums.
  • Experience an interesting mix of Catholic and indigenous tradition during the Philippines biggest mardis gras: Ati-Atihan festival in Kalibo which takes place on Shrove Tuesday of the Christian calendar.
  • Embark on one of the longest train journeys in the world: the Trans-Asian Railway through China, Korea, Mongolia, Russia and Kazakhstan.

Travel Tips

  • Whatever your mode of transport - whether it’s a tuk tuk or a taxi - always ask a local how much it should be beforehand and agree on a price before you take the ride.
  • Manners matter. In Thailand, food is often served with a fork and a spoon. The fork is only used to place food on the spoon and it is often seen as rude to put the fork in your mouth.
  • Always keep toilet paper or tissues with you, and hand sanitizer.
  • Perfect planning is never possible, and having some gaps in your schedule means you can take locals up on their superior suggestions for a day sightseeing.
  • While most countries in Asia use different currencies, having some spare USD will always be helpful. Some accommodations will charge in USD, for example.
  • A bout of stomach flu is normal for first time travellers in Asia. Stick to busy restaurants or food stalls where the locals go and you’ll be fine.
  • Watch what you wear. Most cultures are very accepting of visitors and their unusual get-up. But being respectful of the local culture will go a long way. In India, for example, covering arms and legs will be appreciated, and removing shoes before entering someone’s home will make you a few extra friends.

Tours in Asia - Questions and Answers

  • How to plan an Asia tour?

Asia is a relatively large continent, so there are a wide variety of destinations to explore. Therefore, if you are planning a multi-country trip to Asia, the first thing you need to prepare is the list of countries you are interested in along with your starting and ending points. You would also need to decide on the best time for your trip depending on seasonal variations that affect each country.

After finalizing when and where to travel in Asia, you should make arrangements for all the necessary travel documents. These would include visas, insurances, Covid-19 test reports, vaccine cards, and so on.

  • Which countries should I visit in Asia?

Asia has more than enough destinations to meet every traveler’s needs and desires. If you are into adventure, look no further than the mighty Himalayas. Go on an exhilarating hike to the base camp of Mount Everest, the tallest mountain in the world, or head for the Indian states of Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh instead. Thailand, with its blend of dazzling nightlife, rich history, and striking monuments, is the perfect destination not just for those who wish to let their hair down but also for travelers looking forward to being part of a memorable cultural experience.

Go on a tour to Cambodia, home to the monumental Angkor Wat, if you are into off-the-beaten-path destinations, or choose a Japan tour if you wish to discover how traditions and modernity can be seamlessly blended. The Maldives, with its numerous islands and beaches, is sure to provide you with countless opportunities to kick back on sandy stretches, swim in turquoise waters, and go island-hopping, while the rainforests of Malaysia and Indonesia are a haven for wildlife enthusiasts.

  • How much does an Asia tour cost? What is the cheapest country to travel to in Asia?

There are several factors that determine the amount of money you will spend during your Asia tour. These include the countries you wish to visit, the length of your trip, the type of tour you have chosen (group, private, luxury and budget) as well as other expenses like insurance, visas, and transportation.

Laos is probably the cheapest destination in Asia, with an average daily expense of USD 23 per person. India is yet another budget-friendly destination in the region when it comes to foreigners. Expect to spend between USD 35 to USD 40 per person, per day if you are a mid-range traveler. The average daily expense in Cambodia is slightly higher, at USD 50 per person. Japan and Singapore, on the other hand, are some of the most expensive destinations on the planet. On average, travelers should expect to shell out USD 130 dollars per person, per day while in these countries.

  • What country in Asia is fluent in English?

English is a widely spoken language in Asia, which means that you would not have much difficulty conversing with locals during your trip. Singapore ranks the highest in terms of its proficiency in the English language. The Philippines comes second, followed by Malaysia. Other countries where you will not face much trouble if you can speak English are South Korea, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, China, Vietnam, and Indonesia.

You will find that English is part of life of a section of the population in all these countries. They have road signs in English (along with those in their native languages) as well as English newspapers. Public announcements are often translated into English in these countries, and it is not difficult to come across store banners and product labels written in the language. In addition to all this, locals are also accustomed to tourists, which means they can at least carry out basic conversations in the language.

However, please keep in mind that it is the urban population in the continent that has had the most exposure to the language and is better at communicating in it. The more you travel to the countryside, the fewer English speakers you will meet.

  • How many days is enough for Asia?

A seven-day Asia trip can give you a taste of the general highlights of two countries at most. Go for destinations in the same region, like Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos, if you are planning a week-long vacation to save time. A two-week trip gives you the opportunity to carry out an in-depth exploration of three countries. If you want to cast your net further and cover more ground, then a month-long sojourn would be ideal. This duration is enough to cover everything from the futuristic Tokyo to the backwaters of Kerala and the vast, arid landscapes of Kazakhstan.

Ideally, we suggest that you spend around three weeks in the continent if you wish to get under the skin of its cultures and people.
