The seven day Machame route trek is the ideal schedule for this route. On the 7 day Machame route tour, the trek from Barranco to Barafu is broken up into two days, allowing for some rest just prior to the summit attempt. This is important because summit day begins very early, around midnight, and trekkers usually call this the toughest day on the mountain. By having a short day beforehand, trekkers can be better rested, making it possible to enjoy the tour for all its beauty.
After having climbed Mt Kilimanjaro, you will follow up by short safari to the most beautiful national parks of Tanzania - the Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater for great wildlife views and game drive.
