DAY 1: ARUSHA TO TARANGIRE
Leave Arusha in the morning with packed lunches and drive towards Tarangire, Tanzania's third largest national park and sanctuary. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant population and majestic baobab trees which tend to dwarf the animals that feed beneath them. Most of the animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which is the only permanent source of water in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife and some of the common sightings include the lion, leopard and the cheetah. Lunch boxes will be provided to you at the picnic point. After your game drive, dinner and overnight at Haven Nature Camp or Panorama Camp.
DAY 2: TARANGIRE TO SERENGETI
In the morning, after breakfast, drive to the Serengeti National Park passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Your driver will stop to show you some of the most beautiful views overlooking the crater, and continue onto Oldvai Gorge, the cradle of mankind, the place where Dr. Leakey and Marry Luice made many significant discoveries of the first man. Picnic lunch will be provided by your driver guide which will be followed by game viewing until you reach the Seronera Camp Site located in the center of the park. Overnight at Seronera Camp Site.
DAY 3: SERENGETI TO NGORONGORO
Early in morning, after breakfast, enjoy game viewing at the Serengeti National Park, one of the best destinations to see African wildlife. Serengeti spreads over 14763 sq. kms. and its name has been derived from the Maasai Language which literally translates to 'endless plains'. Therefore, it is home to many animals including lions, elephants, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, leopard, cheetah, warthogs, hyena, and several species of birds. In many cases, you can actually see the Great Migration taking place around Serengeti and at that particular time, it is possible to meet millions of wildebeest and zebra mingling together closely followed by predators. Picnic lunch will be provided inside the park which will be followed by a drive to the Ngorongoro crater rim for overnight stay at Simba Campsite.
DAY 4: NGORONGORO CRATER TO ARUSHA
After breakfast, descend down the crater floor (600m) for game viewing with picnic lunch. The Ngorongoro Crater has been called one wonders of the world and it is the largest intact volcanic caldera which is famous for its high animal density. You can expect to species such as the black rhino, lion, zebra, wildebeest, hyena, jackal, cheetah, leopard and birds such as pelicans, red flamingoes, turacles, fire finch, and more. The Ngorongoro Conservation Crater is one of the best places to spot the Big 5 on the same day as well. In the afternoon ascend the crater walls and drive back to Arusha for overnight stay.
