Our representative will have a short safari briefing session with you at the lodge and leave you to relax and have dinner. This will be a truly life-enriching safari experience that will be lifetime memorable. Karibu Tanzania!
After breakfast and collecting our packed lunches we will drive to the shores of Lake Eyasi where you will be introduced to the extraordinary people who belong to an indigenous tribe known as the ‘Hadzabe’. The ’Hadzabe are one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes in East Africa and live fascinating and impressive lives in the bush, not requiring any huts or physical infrastructure, living a subsistence lifestyle that relies on their skills in hunting and foraging.
Our Hadzabe friends will be very pleased to teach you to shoot their traditional weapons which they make from materials which occur naturally in their immediate environment. In the evening you will share dinner with the tribesmen and as the day draws to a close will have the rare privilege of sharing in their threatened social world, while they sing traditional songs and perform tribal dances around a bonfire. The evening is a magical one and full of atmosphere. Tonight you will stay in tented lodge which is Kisima Ngeda to be close to the Bushmen for a very early rise tomorrow morning.
We will be woken early in the morning to go hunting with the bushmen. This is no mere performance. The Bushmen rely on these techniques to survive and you’ll need to be very attentive and at times quiet while they demonstrate their use of locally made poisons in incapacitating the poor creatures that keep our friends alive. At around 0930 after the hunt we’ll return to our camping site to take breakfast. From here we’ll proceed with lunch boxes to Lake Eyasi where we aim to see the unrivaled spectacle of countless colorful flamingos on the lake’s shores. In the afternoon we’ll transfer to the Serengeti National Park and will take dinner and spend overnight at the Ndutu Katikati Tented Camp.
This day will be for exploring the famous Serengeti National Park. Serengeti National Park is undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world, unequalled for its natural beauty and scientific value. With more than two million wildebeest, half a million Thomson’s gazelle, and a quarter of a million zebra, it has the greatest concentration of plains game in Africa on this day the migration has taken the animals but most animals still remain in the park except many absent wildebeest. Dinner and Overnight at Ndutu Katikati Tented Camp or similar.
After a leisurely breakfast at the lodge, we depart with our lunch box for Ngorongoro Crater and Highlands “eighth wonder of the world”, the Ngorongoro Crater, which is the largest unbroken caldera on earth. The Crater is a home to the rare Black Rhino and has its own Soda Lake. The highest concentration of non migrant wild animals in the Crater area means that you are likely to see the lions, elephants, Zebras, wildebeest, hippos, flamingoes, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, a rare white buffalo, many birds and other species. With a picnic lunch you will descend the 600m high crater walls and spend the afternoon viewing wildlife on the crater floor. Dinner and overnight at Rhino Lodge or similar.
After breakfast at the lodge we’ll drive to visit Maasai boma. Visitors always relish this experience hugely. You’ll be invited into the hut of the senior wife who is present and have the opportunity to discuss many aspects of her life in the Maasai tribe: what it is like being one of several wives; how the men train to become warriors; some fascinating rules about hospitality and traveling, and many more things about why the world respects and values this unique tribe. We’ll have a traditional lunch with the family and afterwards enjoy a walk in their environs on which we’ll have the chance to discuss many issues that affect the tribe, projects that are underway to improve their standard of living without threatening their way of life and anything else that will interest you about traditional village life. In the evening we’ll return to Arusha at Planet Lodge or similar for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast you will be picked up by our guide from the lodge and go for Arusha city tour for shopping, have lunch at the restaurant by the Themi River.
Later in the evening drive to the Arusha airport to board your flight to Zanzibar.
Upon arrival in Zanzibar, our representative will welcome you with a cold drink and fresh face towel and drive you to Tembo House Hotel for dinner and over night. You will receive briefing and the entire tour programme in Zanzibar and agree on the tour activities to be conducted while in Zanzibar.
