“What a trek, it was amazing, on top of the world. We were blessed with perfect weather right up until the last day when we were walking in the clouds. As usual WE looked after me so well. Everything was excellent from the camps to the food and Sanjay our guide. I loved the yaks and mules with their tinkling bells. It was very special seeing Everest but Ama Dablam base camp was very special.”

“Our trip to Ama Dablam Base Camp exceeded expectations. As a family of 6 (4 daughters aged 17-23) it was a fantastic bonding experience. It was also a very humbling experience for we privileged Australian citizens. To see the simplicity of the high Himalayan way of life in the Nepal Himalayas, the sheer resourcefulness of the beautiful, polite, respectful people, the incredible grandeur of the mountains- against a backdrop of crystal clear blue skies- are memories that will stay with us all for the rest of our lives, and we are the richer for it. To add to our amazing experience, our local Nepalese guides, sherpas, cooks,lodge owners - everyone connected with our tour company on the trek- all worked very hard to ensure our experience was a fabulous one. The lengths to which they went, so humbly & politely- were above & beyond duty I'm sure. My only complaint would be that it felt embarrassing at times to have these truly divine people going to sometimes extraordinary lengths to ensure we were always as well looked after as was humanly possible!!! I would like to stress that although not really a difficult trek in terms of endurance or technical difficulty, the Ama Dablam base camp trek is however more dangerous than we expected - the off the main track trails are often very narrow, with precipitous drops, no guard rails, slippery gravelly sections. Not for the faint- hearted! Having said that, our guide & sherpa stayed close by & were very mindful of the dangers we were encountering, ensuring we had the safest passage possible in the riskier areas. Views of Everest, Lotse, Ama Dablam, and surrounding ranges were beyond spectacular!!”
