Great introduction to the delights of Andalucia

“Lovely walks with views over Olive tree plantations and rolling Andalusian hills. Visits to Andalusian villages unspoiled by tourism. Great cuisine prepared by local staff from the village of Algamitas at the farmhouse base, Cortijo Rosario. A fantastic insight into life in Andalucia and the opportunity to wind down in peaceful surroundings; waking up to birds singing in the morning. The staff at the Cortijo were very welcoming and friendly.”

“A fairly gentle week's walking though I'd imagine it would be a lot harder in the heat of summer. We had torrential rain on the first day's walk (unusual) but the weather after that was a very pleasant at 25 to 30 degrees C. The atmosphere at the farmhouse was very relaxed, and it was lovely not to have to worry about room keys (you're in the countryside, a long way from crime and annoyances). It's worth noting that the days are relatively short, so there is fair amount of time spent back at the farmhouse in the afternoon waiting for dinner at 8pm - fine if you like relaxing, not so good if you like to be active.”
Walking, hiking, climbing, scrambling, enjoying!

“I'd like to set the tone by saying that everything about this holiday was perfect! This was my first ever walking holiday so I chose the leisurely to moderate category. In hindsight the description is probably accurate, but some of the treks took me by surprise as there were some truly steep and rocky hills to climb. Perhaps I wasn't quite enough prepared for those but managed to complete them all. Clearly the recommended pre-holiday fitness training is very important. The 'leisurely' bit comes in in the fact that we were able to have frequent breaks for shade and water in the temperatures of 35+. Each day was challenging in its own way and at the end of the day you felt a real sense of achievement. There were some breathtaking mountainous sceneries and clear pure air to chase out any London pollution!”
