The Beautiful Mountain Reviewed Tour: Seven-Day Mount Kilimanjaro Climb: Lemosho Route
5 - Excellent
  • Anonymous
  • From France
“Amazing experience with Kilisa tours

We were a group of 3 people from France, who made the 7-day ascent of the Lemosho route - descent Mweka Kilimanjaro Trek.
Climbing Kilimanjaro under the Kilisa circuits was fabulous because we really had a great experience and we got the best service. Naick, who is the owner of the company, contacted us all the time and the communication was easy as he made all the logistical arrangements and the price was absolutely reasonable in addition
This trip exceeded my expectations
Everything was well planned, from arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, transfers to the hotel and back and of course the duration of the trek
The route that we chose is very picturesque each day presented different sites. And this route helped us acclimatize to the high altitude and increased our chances of success before trying to Uhuru Peak.
The food was delicious and varied every day, served with fruits and vegetables, including coffee and tea. I couldn't believe how creative the chef was at producing hot food on the mountain.
In general, we could not have asked for a better guide and a better team than those in Kilisa
The hike was great, it was a great success to stand at the top and we could not have done it without the support of this team
we were strong and fit and for that we finished the hike a day earlier. And even after the hike, Naick was kind enough to invite us home and had dinner with his family
It made for a truly remarkable experience.
We had a great trip to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro and even after.
I would highly recommend this company without any hesitation.”
Devine African Safaris Was A Great Choice Reviewed Tour: 5-Day Gorilla Trekking, Big 5 & Big Cats Safari
5 - Excellent
  • Gundolf Kohler
  • From Germany
“Nicholas the managing director of Devine African Safaris came highly recommended from my brothers who used their services in 2019. We contacted him and from his timely and detailed response we knew that we were in the hands of a professional. We agreed to the 4 days safari and gorillas tracking in Uganda where permit and lodges costs were substantially lower. Our guide William was knowledgeable and very accommodating. His expertise and friendly personality made our experience enjoyable. We made the right choice in selecting an experienced company with great vehicles and an experienced guide”
A great cruise! Reviewed Tour: Nile River Cruise from Aswan to Luxor
5 - Excellent
  • Juliette Welham
  • From England
“As a group of friends we booked the 4 day 3 night cruise from Aswan to Luxor with Imperial Egypt.

Our tour guide Hady was on time to pick us up from our hotel and we had the pleasure of his company and great sense of humour for the rest of the cruise! His friendly nature and fluent English combined with his extensive knowledge of Ancient Egyptian history served to bring each place we visited alive. The balance between engaging explanations and free time meant we we were able to explore at our own pace. Hady went above and beyond being a tour guide, he was an entertaining companion sharing anecdotes and giving us advice about life in Egypt. He even offered a morning alarm call to our cabin to check we were up and awake in time! At the end of the tour he took us to a restaurant in Luxor to finish the experience with a delicious kofta meal.

The itinerary included an amazing array of visits with transport and tickets arranged as well as additional optional trips such as to Abu Simbel (which I would highly recommend). As a small group of six, Hady was able to make the itinerary suit us, moving some of the Luxor trips around so we would have enough time at each. As all three of us were students, Hady arranged to buy us discounted student tickets and was able to return the money we had saved at the end of the trip.

Our boat was the M/S Mahrousa (Sunrise Resorts & Cruises). The boat was lovely and our cabin was clean and had everything we needed. All meals were included and the food was excellent and served in a buffet style. The staff on the boat were very friendly and helpful, with the restaurant staff helping us practise our Arabic and housekeeping leaving us an entertaining towel sculpture each day!

Overall a great experience and excellent value for money. The January weather meant the cruise was pleasantly warm and sunny whilst not too hot. I would thoroughly recommend the cruise and Hady as a tour guide!”

Africa - Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

Africa, the birthplace of the human race is often generalised as a whole country. In reality, a trip to Africa will introduce you to 54 distinct countries that encompass multiple climates, landscapes, religions and cultures. Holidays to Africa will open your senses to grassy savannah plains stretched across entire countries from east to west Africa and finally dipping south while the endless Sahara desert consumes the north. The miracle of Africa is the endurance of its wildlife and its people in what can often be extreme conditions. But don’t underestimate the cosmopolitan oases to be found.

Travel Highlights

  • Complete a pilgrimage to the wondrous rock-carved churches of Lalibela, Ethiopia. Visit during one of the big Christian festivals and witness the powerful scene of hundreds of white-robed believers crowd the underground churches that date back to the 12th and 13th centuries.
  • Visit the Valley of the Kings in Luxor, south Egypt and explore the tomb of Tutankamun.
  • Get lost in the souks of Marrakech while scouring for bargains or succumb to the cultural charms of Fez and the dark, winding streets of its Medina.
  • Sit patiently at a watering hole in Etosh National Park, Namibia and wait for the wildlife to surround you. From the Big 5, such as lions and elephants and giraffes, to smaller mammals like warthogs and hyenas - the cast of The Lion King is bound make an appearance.
  • Take in the unique character of Cape Town and it’s instantly recognisable skyline of Table Mountain, arguable one of the most beautiful cities in Africa.

Travel Tips

  • Keep in mind that if you plan to travel to multiple countries, you will need two free pages in your passport for each country you intend to travel to.
  • Generally, most northern, southern and eastern countries allow travellers to purchase a visa upon arrival, whereas a lot of western and central countries require you to apply for a visa beforehand. However, be sure to check requirements before you begin your travels!
  • It can often be difficult to get hold of local currency before you leave, so always try to have some dollars (widely used) and euros (more so for northern and western Africa).
  • Make sure you visit your personal doctor before travelling to Africa, in case you need vaccinations or preventative medication for Malaria, for example. Some vaccinations are needed over a course of time, so don’t leave this until the last minute!
  • Sunscreen and feminine hygiene products can be hard to come by in certain parts of Africa, so stock up before you leave.
  • Dress according to the country you are visiting. Shoulders are generally fine for most countries, though the knees should be covered. Predominantly muslim countries will have stricter dress codes. Look at what the locals are wearing and follow suit.
  • It’s very common to greet or acknowledge people you pass in the street, this is just a polite custom and won’t solicit unwanted attention.
  • Africa is fairly well-connected when it comes to travel, though it can be slower than you’re used to. Keep your travel plans fairly loose and overland travel can be a great way to witness the country you’re in.
