Start and end in Addis Ababa, the Hidden Tribes Of Ethiopia tour is a guided adventure trip that takes 7 days. You will travel through Arba Minch, Turmi and Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. Hidden Tribes Of Ethiopia is a small group tour which includes accommodation, transport, meals and others.

Visit the fascinating tribes of the Omo Valley in southern Ethiopia. For thousands of years the Omo Valley in southern Ethiopia was a crossroads for droves of people migrating to new lands. Today, it is undoubtedly one of the most unique places on earth because of the sheer diversity of tribal groups that live in this remote area of the Great Rift Valley. This is an extraordinary opportunity to immerse in the fabric of some of these societies, including the Mursi, Hamer and Karo tribes, each with their distinct culture. Expect a real adventure with conditions basic; the Omo Valley being an incredible reminder of an Africa that has not yet seen modernisation. From Addis Ababa we drive to the Omo Valley region and enjoy a boat trip on Lake Chamo to spot hippos and an array of water birds. For the next few days we move from village to village, witnessing traditional lifestyles. The Mursi traditions, whose women insert large clay plates in their lower lips, and the Hamer, who scar and paint their bodies in a mark of their culture, are incredibly fascinating. Returning to Addis Ababa at the conclusion of our trip we reflect on this memorable experience of untouched cultures, ceremonies and astounding natural environments.

“Mayuko was a wonderful and very patient guide. The most memorable part was walking along the old roads through townships, farmland and forests then staying in the traditional inns.”

“If you are at all hesitating about reserving your place on this trip, don't! It is breathtaking in every sense of the word. The trek is really well designed to give you the best chance to acclimatise and the guides will keep you to a sensible pace. I embarked on my trip with some trepidation but I strongly believe that with the right attitude and flexible approach it is achievable by most people. Our guide (Dilli) was first rate and the consummate professional, the camps were well equipped and comfortable and it goes without saying that the views are out of this world. 5 stars!”

“This was my third overlanding expedition in Southern Africa and it did not disappoint. The scenery, wildlife and cultures in Zimbabwe and Botswana were spectacular. Particular highlights were having the fabulous ruins at Great Zimbabwe all to ourselves to explore with our brilliant local guide at leisure; tracking rhino on foot in Matobo NP with an anti-poaching patrol and venturing into the watery Okavango wonderland to free camp in the wild. Unforgettable experiences - thank you World Expeditions!”
