- A northern Japan tour will take you to some of the most rustic areas. Remember to bow when meeting locals, they will be very happy that you respect their customs.
- Use the Shinkansen bullet trains and you will find your travel times reduce greatly.
- Even in cold weather don’t blow your nose in public, locals consider it very rude! You can sniff as much as you want though.
- Don’t tip. Not only will this save you money but it’s not part of Japanese culture and it will embarrass them to refuse it.
