“We had a great guide. Yumi looked after us very well throughout the tour. She also taught us how to take local transports which made our post-tour days so much easier. I had visited Japan 4 times previously. This tour is probably the best: an excellent mix of fast-paced modern cities and traditional, ancient regions. We were there at the perfect time and were rewarded with magnificent displays of cherry blossoms. We were so lucky to be able to share the enthusiasm and excitement the Japanese have for celebrating the cherry blossom season. Quite an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended.”

“This company made travelling through Japan easier, less stressful and undoubtedly more enjoyable. As Japan is definitely different in terms of culture and food from everything my sister and I have seen before, we were quite nervous at the start of our trip. Seeing the detailed itinerary (with maps and links for locations and hotels) put our nerves at ease. They are extremely knowledgeable about Japanese culture and language and has created a bespoke itinerary to match our interests. At the same time, they were always ready if anything went different from the already planned schedule. This tour definitely exceeded our expectations. Everything from planning to inside tips on where to eat was on point. Definitely recommend booking a guided tour in each city you visit, it makes a big difference and would've learned a lot more about Kyoto if we had one as was the case with the other places we visited. Thank you again for this unforgettable experience!”

“Our tour leader was absolutely phenomenal. His knowledge of the culture as well as his practical skills as a guide undoubtedly enhanced my experience in Japan in a way that can only be expressed verbally as exponentially positive. He always had a ton of energy, was always excited and engaged with what we were doing, and just genuinely made the trip so much fun. I love all things athletic and outdoor activities like hiking and climbing and our tour leader was giving me a true run for my money on all of our outdoor activities. The fact that our tour leader was also one of the best hikers and runners made the trip that much more enjoyable. Overall, amazing. No negative feedback, I had the best time of my life.”

Mount Fuji - Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

Mount Fuji Tour Highlights

  • Tackle the mighty Mount Fuji and make life long memories on an epic Mount Fuji trek with a local guide that takes you right to the summit.
  • After hiking Mount Fuji spend some time in the surrounding Fuji Five Lakes region to enjoy the lake strolls, watersports, and spectacular mountain views.
  • Soak up spectacular views of Mount Fuji from Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, an area famous for its panoramic vistas and bubbling hot springs.
  • If a Mount Fuji hike is a little daunting to you then take the shortest route among the four routes to the peak of Mount Fuji and ride a cable car to the station before enduring the final part of the summit to the peak.
  • Stroll around the city of Fujinomiya found at the base of Mount Fuji before you begin your ascent. Here you’ll find museums, memorials, and numerous accommodation options.

Mount Fuji Travel Tips

  • Make sure you pack something warm to wear when you reach the summit of the mountain, particularly if you’re going up for sunrise or sunset. The temperatures at the top can drop quickly and the winds bring in a chill.
  • Pace yourself! While you might have tackled a number of mountains in your own country or around the globe, always listen to your Mount Fuji tour guide when it comes to pacing yourself. There’s no fun in burning yourself out and having to turn back.
  • Getting to Mount Fuji from Tokyo is fairly simply, but consider purchasing a Japan Travel pass in advance to save money on train fares. The pass must be purchased before you enter the country and offers unlimited use of the Japan train system for a one-off fee.
  • If you’re a beginner hiker, opt for the Yoshida Trail as the route is equipped with three rescue stations. Also, don’t forget to bring loose change for the toilets.
  • The Mount Fuji climbing season runs between 1st July and mid-September though each route opening times vary slightly, always check this beforehand.
