- Pace yourself! While you might have tackled a number of mountains in your own country or around the globe, always listen to your Mount Fuji tour guide when it comes to pacing yourself. There’s no fun in burning yourself out and having to turn back.
- Getting to Mount Fuji from Tokyo is fairly simply, but consider purchasing a Japan Travel pass in advance to save money on train fares. The pass must be purchased before you enter the country and offers unlimited use of the Japan train system for a one-off fee.
- If you’re a beginner hiker, opt for the Yoshida Trail as the route is equipped with three rescue stations. Also, don’t forget to bring loose change for the toilets.
- The Mount Fuji climbing season runs between 1st July and mid-September though each route opening times vary slightly, always check this beforehand.
